How to Protect Yourself From the Coronavirus
Hey Everyone! I recently sent out a newsletter to my subscribers about the Coronavirus Pandemic that was well received. Therefore, I've decided to add it as a blog post so every visitor can read it as well. Stay safe! ============== Yes... this is ANOTHER email about the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation that we're all facing. I don't know about you, but I think I've received a coronavirus email from every company that has my email address since I started using the internet in the early 90's! Crazy!!! So let's jump right into the topic at hand. The coronavirus is spreading like wild fire across our nation and throughout the world. Especially here in New York. By now, we've all implemented social distancing which has been making everything feel so awkward. When I make deliveries, I usually ring the doorbell and hand my customers their order while asking if they have any questions. Now, I feel like I'm a kid again, doing a ring and run! Hugs and handshakes have turned into a quick wave or an elbow bump (which I'm not even sure is allowed). I guess this is the new normal until this virus is under control. With that said, besides implementing social distancing, washing your hands all day and not touching your face, what can you do to protect yourself from contracting this very contagious virus? Well... I wrote a blog post a while ago about how microgreens can activate the Nrf2 Pathway in our bodies to produce powerful antioxidants within our cells. These antioxidants decrease cell damage which in turn can help fight off disease, bacteria and viruses. The compound responsible for this Nrf2 activation is called Sulforaphane and is found in all cruciferous vegetables. But the kicker here is clinical studies have shown that broccoli microgreens contain up to 100x more sulforaphane that their mature counterparts. Plus, microgreens have been proven to contain up to 40x more nutrients than their adult counterparts as well. As an example, 1 oz of broccoli microgreens equals 1.4 POUNDS of mature broccoli. That's not a typo! Under normal circumstances, adding microgreens to your daily diet is a smart move. Now that we're facing this pandemic head-on, I feel it's a no brainer. Here is a link to the article and a must-watch video by Dr. Rhonda Patrick about Sulforaphane.

We will overcome the Coronavirus Pandemic and become a stronger nation! |
I currently grow 15 varieties of microgreens for retail customers, as well as restaurants, caterers and country clubs. Consumer demand for microgreens over the last week has increased exponentially. Especially, broccoli and superfood salad mix because they contain the highest amounts of NrF2 activating sulforaphane. Therefore, I've decided to ramp up production on those two varieties to meet current and future demands. I'm also growing Green Pea microgreens because they are very high in protein which our bodies need as well. The availability of all other varieties will be somewhat limited for the time being. I've also made the decision to personally deliver orders, instead of relying on the US Postal Service for shipping. I want to limit the number of hands touching shipping boxes. Basically what that means is you're getting farm to table microgreens with no middleman. Your order will be boxed up at my grow facility and driven to your location. With that said, I need to limit deliveries to Suffolk County and Eastern Nassau County. Your order must be $30 or over to qualify for free home delivery. Please reach out to me before placing an order to make sure your zip code is within my delivery route. You can contact me through the contact form on my website. Let me make something perfectly clear. I'm not trying to push you to purchase my microgreens. I'm just trying to make you aware of what's going on with the coronavirus pandemic and the options you have to protect yourself, your friends and your family members. I'm also not saying that by eating microgreens you'll be immune to the Covid-19 virus. If I told you that, it would be an outright lie! What microgreens can do for you is, strengthen your immune system with their high nutrient content and Nrf2 activating sulforaphane. A strong immune system is one of the best defenses against any bacterial or viral infection. With all of that said, I do believe my microgreens are the healthiest and most potent microgreens you can purchase here on Long Island. I filter my water 6x before feeding it to my microgreens throughout their growth. This 6-stage filtration and remineralization process removes 99% of the contaminants found in our tap water. Therefore, you're getting a very PURE microgreen. Plus, no fertilizers or pesticides are used, and I grow hydroponically so you don't have to worry about any contaminated soil. You’re getting pure living microgreens that you cut and plate when needed which retains 100% of the beneficial nutrients that mother nature intended them to have. Until next time... Stay safe!
